Young Grittleton: Melissa (11)

During my two weeks at Young Grittleton I had so much fun playing violin and viola with other people instead of on my own. On the first week I played viola, and on the second week I played violin. Although it was my second year of going to Young Grittleton, I still found setting up my bed challenging. I also had to help one of my room-mates set up hers.

My first instrument is violin, so it was good to play viola for a change, but when I went home I couldn’t read the treble clef! Playing with my friends was great, but besides that we also had the talent show, which was brilliant. There were amazing card tricks, competitions between the staff and a lot of other fun stuff. We got to listen to the Senior Grittleton staff play in their concert. They were all fantastic. It went on for a long time but it was great.

Then we had our concert. The days all passed too quickly. I was having so much fun. At the end of the concert we all said goodbye to each other and went home. I really hope I can see everyone again next year!

Thank you very much to the Joan Dickson Chamber Music Fund for giving me this opportunity.
