ESTA Central Board
Workshop Series – Spring Semester 2025

 
ESTA Central Board have announced a six-session workshop series starting in March 2025, offering valuable insights into string pedagogy.
 
Dates and Times: The workshops will be held on March 30, April 13 & 27, May 11, June 8 & 15, all at 4pm CET, with each session lasting approximately 75
minutes.

If you are a current ESTA UK member: Participation is free to all ESTA UK members. Once you have registered Central Board will check to confirm a current membership with ESTA UK. You do need a current membership in order to participate.
 

Non members: You can only participate with a current ESTA UK membership. If you would like to attend these online workshops at no cost please visit our Join ESTA UK page and select a membership category. Once you have signed up for membership you can then use the registration link above to gain access to these sessions at no additional cost.

Session Topics: The workshops will cover essential aspects of string pedagogy including; 

  • Developing basic holds, movements, rhythms, and early improvisation
  • Connecting hand movements and introducing harmonics
  • Stopping motion, inner hearing, and improvisation
  • Intonation exercises, transposing, and finger preparation
  • Developing bow techniques and exploring bow “lanes”
  • Conscious string crossing and pentatony with performance pieces

This series promises to deliver exceptional value for teachers and
performers alike.
