Allegro Appassionato, Op.43

This dramatic piece has many mood changes that require a large variety of articulation, fast fingers, rapid shifts and an expressive tone. It needs good projection. It is a popular choice for concerts and exams.

Un soir à Portici Op.86

A tarantella with easy “flashy” double stops surrounds a contrasting melodic middle section. An excellent concert piece using 1st– 5th positions.

Concerto

A rhapsodic concerto: Moderato; Allegro Apassionato; Tema ed Improvvisazioni.

There is much use of double stops and chords, natural harmonics, arpeggios and ornaments. It requires excellent co-ordination between the hands.

The piano reduction requires an experienced pianist.

Perpetuo Mobile from Little Suite No.6

Perpetuo Mobile (<3 mins) is a good concert piece exploiting sautillé. It requires good right and left hand co-ordination. It goes up to 3rd/5th positions depending on the fingering.

A CD is available separately.
