Elegy

Vibrato and good cantabile bowing will enhance this expressive piece which ends rallentando e morendo.

It goes up to 2nd position and has many time signature changes though the crotchet pulse stays constant. The phrases are not even lengths.

Elegy is the 2nd movement from the Petite Suite: Prelude, Elegy, Minuet and March. It is in a contemporary tonal style and the other movements are at a similar level and equally enjoyable.
