The Puppet Show Op. 5 No. 1

The Puppet Show starts with a jovial melody in D major and has a cantabile melody in the central section.

The opening section gives the opportunity to develop a spiccato bow stroke on the quavers while the running triplets allow the performer to consolidate the switch from quavers to triplets. There are some left hand pizzicato notes.
